What are COILs or Virtual Exchanges?

COILs, or Virtual Exchanges, are a pedagogical methodology that enables international collaboration by connecting students from two or more institutions in different countries through technology to achieve learning objectives, guided by the course professors. This approach facilitates communication and interaction, enhancing global learning and fostering students' intercultural development. COILs allow students and professors to have an international experience without leaving the classroom, an initiative known as “Internationalization at Home,” promoting inclusion. Therefore, it is a methodology with significant impact.
